ORIGINS
At the beginning of its history, Baxter presented itself with furniture characterized by a typically English mood, and this leather just wants to honour these origins. This is how Old England leather was born, with its vintage aspect, obtained through a peculiar hand-manufacturing, carried out by Baxter’s craftsmen.
TANNING AND MANUFACTURING
Old England is carried out on half hides of noticeable thickness and undergoes a first process of 100% vegetable tanning. In the following dying phase, inside a barrel, the addition of a mixture of waxes gives leather an aspect that allows Baxter’s skilful craftsmen to act on the finished product. Their action gives the finished product a well-worn aspect, that can be attenuated or marked according to customer’s request. An intense brown colour is the only shade that characterizes this leather.
MAINTENANCE
For this leather you don’t need particular maintenance treatments, it is enough to wipe the whole leather surface with a simple cloth, woollen if possible.
